Verify your taxes. Prove every number.

Already filed? Upload the same documents you used to prepare your return. BasilTax reads them, recomputes your federal and supported state returns, and shows where each amount came from—page by page.

What “verify” means in BasilTax

  1. Upload W-2s, 1099s, brokerage PDFs, and other source documents (PDF, CSV, or images).
  2. Extract fields with page references and confidence scores. SSNs and similar identifiers are redacted before any AI call.
  3. Compute your Form 1040 and supported state returns from those inputs—not a rough estimate.
  4. Trace every line: generate an audit pack PDF and ask questions in chat with citations to your documents.

Sample audit-ready trace (what you get)

Each verification includes a structured trail: document fields → ledger normalization → computed 1040 lines. You can export a PDF audit pack from the app and (optionally) create a redacted share link for a preparer or spouse—see Security.

Document: W-2 (2025) — page 1

Field: Box 1 Wages → $185,400.00 (confidence: 0.99)

→ 1040 Line 1 Wages, salaries, tips

1099-B — ST Cover page — Proceeds $42,000 / Basis $38,200

→ Schedule D / Form 8949 (summary)

Product note: filed 1040 PDF only

Best results come from underlying documents (W-2, 1099, K-1). A standalone filed 1040 PDF does not replace those sources for automated verification. See our verification guide.
